The Betty Rice Award for Lung Cancer Research was created by the Rice Family in memory of Mrs. Rice who died of lung cancer several years ago. The Betty Rice Award was established to promote lung cancer research by clinical fellows or graduate students. This year, three awards for research in the study of lung cancer will be bestowed in honour of Mrs. Rice.
The amount of each of the the Betty Rice awards is $3000.

The applications will be reviewed by a multi-disciplinary committee that will include Dr. Barb Melosky, Chair of the Betty Rice Award Review Committee, BC Cancer. Awards will be presented during the Canadian Lung Cancer Conference on Friday February 6, 2026 and their abstracts will be posted on the conference website.
The awardees must be able to attend the Cdn Lung Cancer Conference and accept the award in person.
