Welcome to the 2024 Canadian Lung Cancer Conference taking place at the Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver, BC on Thursday February 8, and Friday February 9, 2024. 

There have been exciting advances in the treatment, diagnosis & staging of lung cancer. The meeting continues to have a multi-disciplinary focus to meet the needs of a wide variety of professionals.

Topics appealing to Medical Oncology, Respiratory Medicine, Radiation Oncology and Thoracic Surgery as well as Oncology Nursing will be presented. Our guest speakers will provide a wealth of expertise and knowledge to optimize the treatment of lung cancer patients.

Accreditation:

This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

This activity was approved by the Canadian Association of Medical Oncologists for a maximum of 6.5 hours.

Objectives and Goals

• To improve the care of patients with lung cancer.
• To review and transfer knowledge of new approaches to the treatment of NSCLC.
• To discuss the role of radiation oncology in the management of NSCLC.
• To update surgical options in NSCLC therapy.

Please note: Once you have applied for TLC your name will be submitted to the TLC Chairs for consideration. TLC Chairs, Dr. Randeep Sangha and Dr. Sarah Baker will confirm accepted candidates by mid-December. After receiving participation approval you will be requested to register for the main conference as well- Canadian Lung Cancer Conference. 

Betty Rice Awards: (NOW CLOSED)

The Betty Rice Award for Lung Cancer Research was created by the Rice Family in memory of Mrs. Rice who died of lung cancer several years ago. The Betty Rice Award was established to promote lung cancer research by clinical fellows or graduate students.  Two awards will be bestowed in honour of Mrs. Rice.  One for best pre-clincial research and one for best clinical research study in lung cancer.

The amount of each of the the Betty Rice awards is $2000.
(Awardees must register for the Cdn Lung Cancer Conference)

The applications will be reviewed by a multi-disciplinary committee that will include Dr. Barb Melosky, Chair of the Betty Rice Award Review Committee, BC Cancer.
The awardees will give a short 5 minute presentation of their research during the Canadian Lung Cancer Conference on Friday February 9, 2024.
The awardees must be able to present live and register and attend the Cdn Lung Cancer Conference.
